Cookie Policy
This page explains which cookies we use on CoffeeSpecs and how you can control them. For the full picture of how we handle your data, also read the Privacy Policy.
What cookies are
Cookies are small files your browser saves when you visit a site. They serve to make the site work, to remember your choices and in some cases to measure audience or show ads. Italian and European law distinguishes between:
- Technical cookies (always on): they make the site work. They don't require your consent.
- Analytics cookies (optional): they help understand how users use the site in aggregate form. They require consent when they belong to third parties.
- Advertising cookies (optional): they serve to show ads. They always require your consent.
Our choice at this stage
CoffeeSpecs currently uses only technical cookies and no third-party cookies. To measure audience we use Plausible Analytics, a tool that runs on our server and sets no cookies and collects no personal data. We have no advertising.
When in the future we introduce ads or more advanced analytics, we'll show a banner asking for your consent before activating any non-essential cookie, and we'll update this page with the full list.
Technical cookies we use (always on)
| Cookies | Duration | Function |
|---|---|---|
sessionid | 14 days | Keep the session when you log into the authors area or edit a lab you created |
csrftoken | 12 months | Security — protection against CSRF attacks |
coffeespecs_lang | 12 months | Remember the chosen language |
We also use the browser's Local Storage for:
- Selected light/dark theme.
- State of the product comparison in progress.
How to change your choices
At this stage there is nothing to manage: we do not use non-essential cookies. When we introduce optional cookies, we will show you a banner and you will find a "Cookie preferences" link at the bottom of every page. You can still manage and delete technical cookies directly from your browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge); note that blocking all cookies may prevent you from using some features (e.g. the authors' area).
Cookies and personal data
The use of cookies may involve the processing of personal data. For the full picture — who the controller is, how to exercise your rights, where to file a complaint — read the Privacy Policy.
Changes to this policy
If we change the cookie list or introduce new providers, we'll update this page and — when it comes to non-essential cookies — we'll show you a consent banner.
