The data comes from the source, not from us
Technical specifications come from the manufacturer's official website, manuals and data sheets: next to every value are the page it was read from and the date it was recorded. We don't rewrite from memory: we read the source. If a value can't be verified, it stays empty — better a missing field than an invented number.
Do we use AI? Yes, to write better
It helps us draft and translate the sheets' texts and catch mistakes. The numbers, no: they always come from the cited source, and in review we remove any sentence the data does not support. Comparisons between two machines are composed automatically from the sheets, and say so at the top of the page.
Every sheet says who made it
Spec sheets, recipes and guides carry the CoffeeSpecs byline and the date of the last check. The bio next to the byline says how we work, not how good we are: we are a group, and anyone who joins with a role of their own will appear under their own name. Comparisons composed from the data carry no byline, and say so at the top of the page.
Data and opinions stay separate
A technical value always has a source. An editorial judgment — strengths, caveats, who a machine suits — is stated as such. We avoid brochure adjectives ("revolutionary", "best-in-class"): if something is good, you can see it from the numbers and the context.
The use tier is not a price range
The use tier — from F1 entry to F5 professional — says who a machine is designed for, from beginners to people working behind a bar counter. It isn't derived from the price: machines with very different prices sit in the same tier, and the price is shown separately.
Prices have a date
We don't publish selling prices, which change all the time. When the manufacturer publishes a list price we report it as such; otherwise we show a range estimated by the editors, labelled as an estimate. Both carry the month they were recorded, and for today's price we refer you to the seller.
How we sustain ourselves
