Bourbon-Typica group, related to Typica. Selected in the late 1930s from a tree labelled "French Mission" on the Loresho estate, at Kabete. The French Mission trees descend from the Bourbon seeds planted by French missionaries at Bura in 1893, but genetic tests place SL34 close to Typica rather than Bourbon: that line of descent may be wrong.
