Kees van der Westen Espressonistic Works B.V. is a Dutch manufacturer of espresso machines, founded by industrial designer Kees van der Westen: his first machine, his industrial design graduation project, dates to 1984 and found a buyer at the end-of-year exhibition where it was shown.
Machines are hand-built in small series in the Netherlands rather than on a production line: the range includes the Spirit, Speedster, Slim Jim, Slim Jim Idrocompresso, Mirage and Spiritello, for commercial and prosumer use. The company is family-run today, with Kees' daughters involved in its future.
The distributor network covers dozens of countries across six continents and, per the official website, includes stocked spare parts for immediate delivery through local partners.
