Data from official source

The Speedster is a single-group machine with a dual boiler setup in 316L stainless steel: a 3.5 l steam boiler and a 2.1 l saturated coffee boiler with a 900 W heating element, each with its own electronic temperature controller. The coffee boiler is regulated by a PID system, described by the manufacturer as a self-learning device that keeps the temperature very stable. The pump is an external 300 W rotary unit, mounted separately from the machine body.

Pre-infusion runs through a two-phase, spring-loaded progressive cylinder that builds pressure gradually before reaching full extraction pressure, stated at 9 bar; the mid-lever position also allows a manual pre-infusion phase on mains pressure alone, before the pump engages. A pressure gauge connected to the pre-infusion cylinder shows the actual pressure on the coffee bed, not pump pressure. A stainless-steel three-way solenoid valve completes the group, of the saturated type in the manufacturer's own wording.

The machine requires a fixed water-mains connection, with a 3/8-inch fitting supply hose included as standard; no internal reservoir is fitted. The steam wand is stainless steel with a four-hole, 1.2 mm tip, a large knob and an optional flip-flop lever. Stated weight is roughly 45 kg. The manufacturer does not publish portafilter diameter, maximum pump pressure, any reservoir capacity, or a heat-up time: the technical pages show dimensional drawings only as diagrams, with no measurements written out in the text.

02 · Summary

Pros and cons

In favour

  • Dual 316L stainless-steel boiler system with independent temperature control for steam and coffee
  • PID system on the coffee boiler for a stated very stable temperature
  • Two-phase, spring-loaded progressive pre-infusion cylinder to reduce channelling
  • Pressure gauge wired to the pre-infusion cylinder to read the actual pressure on the coffee bed

Worth knowing

  • No internal reservoir: requires a fixed mains water connection
  • Portafilter diameter and maximum pump pressure not disclosed by the manufacturer
  • Roughly 45 kg: the manufacturer warns the countertop must be solid enough to carry it source
