Bezzera Matrix, in the MN version described here, combines a traditional manual lever group with a dual boiler: a 0.45-litre coffee boiler heated by thermosiphonic circulation and a 1-litre service boiler, with 2 stated PID thermostats keeping temperature between 88 and 96°C. Coffee brewing starts by pushing the lever up and stops by lowering it back down.
Stated dimensions are 310x470x420 mm for a weight of 33 kg. Stated power supply is 220-240V in the European version (110-120V in the North American version), both at 50-60Hz, drawing 800W for the coffee boiler and 1200W for the service boiler. The hydraulic system is powered by a rotary pump that, as with the DE version of the same model, can draw from a 4-litre internal tank or be connected to the water mains. Pre-infusion is settable, and a 3.5-inch touchscreen manages the electronic functions, including customising the body colour.
The manufacturer does not specify the brew group type (E61 or proprietary), the boiler material, the operating pressure in bar, the heat-up time, the presence of a pressure gauge or a 3-way valve, the steam wand type, or the portafilter diameter.
