The Duo, here in the DE version with electronic dosing, is a dual boiler: one for coffee and one for steam and hot water, with three PIDs holding the temperature steady even during long sessions. The pump is rotary and draws either from the four-litre tank or from the mains, so you can start on the tank and plumb it in later.
Coffee is dosed from the keypad, with four programmable doses and a button for continuous flow; pre-infusion can be set. Switch-on and switch-off are scheduled for each day, the group has automatic cleaning, and a reminder tells you when to change the water filter and service the machine.
Frame and body are stainless steel. It is for someone who wants a dual boiler that doses by itself and takes care of part of the maintenance, with a good grinder beside it. At 47 cm deep it needs a deep counter.
