Stone is an Italian brand of home espresso machines and grinders. Its official site gives the company as Stone srl, Via Achille Grandi 1, Truccazzano, in the province of Milan, and describes itself as based in Milan; the general terms of sale of the official online shop define Stone as «l'omonimo marchio di titolarità di Rocket» - the brand of the same name owned by Rocket Milano S.r.l., registered at the same Truccazzano address. The official pages do not tell the brand's history or state a founding year.
The current range is one machine in two series, Stone and Stone Lite, plus one grinder, the Pebble. According to the official specifications page and brochure, the machine has a 1.5-litre boiler with a 1000 W heater, crossed by an internal coil that heats the brew water (10 cc), a brass group weighing over 3 kg with a PID-controlled 200 W heating system, a 0.8-litre steam chamber and a removable 1.2-litre water tank. It measures 22.5 x 44 x 35.5 cm (width, depth, height), weighs 20.5 kg, comes in 220-240 V and 115 V versions, and the maker states it is ready in 10 minutes. The Pebble has 55 mm flat burrs, a 300 g hopper and three programmable doses.
What sets the brand apart is customisation: stainless steel panels, aluminium side elements in different colours and materials, and a front plate, the Slab, that swaps out through a quick-coupling system.
