Melitta Avanza

The Avanza is Melitta's entry-level bean-to-cup machine: per the official manual it measures 20 cm wide, 46 cm deep and 35.3 cm tall, weighing 8.1 kg empty — the technical document revises upward the 7.5 kg figure shown on the product page. It runs on 220-240 V, 50-60 Hz, and draws up to 1450 W. The grinder is a premium conical steel unit, with a single 250 g bean hopper and a 1.5 l water tank.

Milk is frothed with the Cappuccinatore, a nozzle that connects to the steam pipe and draws milk through a small tube inserted into a container or a standard milk carton; the same nozzle also dispenses hot water. The manufacturer does not state whether the milk system parts are dishwasher safe. The brewing unit slides out by its handle for weekly cleaning. There is no chute for pre-ground coffee, and the only one-touch preset drink is café crème.

The Avanza has no colour display and no personal 'My Coffee Profile' slots, but it can be controlled through Melitta's Companion app for cleaning and descaling management. Available adjustments include a 5-level grind setting, 3-level coffee strength and three brewing temperature thresholds (85/90/95 °C). Descaling is required at least once a year, per the spec sheet.
