pulyCAFF Plus is the powder detergent the manufacturer describes for cleaning the brew group, the drain solenoid valve and every water pathway in an espresso machine, including filters and portafilters: it removes coffee residue and fatty deposits that build up during extraction and prevents unpleasant odours. It is also stated to be suitable for cleaning cups and teapots.

It is certified by NSF International and formulated with raw materials recognised by the US FDA, so it is meant to clean without risk to the operator, the environment, or the machine parts it contacts. The manufacturer offers it in several formats: 900, 570 and 370 gram tubs with an easy-dosing design, a box of 10 ready-to-use 30 gram sachets, and a box of 120 ready-to-use 3.5 gram single doses.

The manufacturer describes two use protocols: daily cleaning of the group with a blind filter, pouring 3-5 grams of product and cycling the brew switch, and soak cleaning of filters and portafilters, dissolving 10 grams of product in a litre of hot water and leaving it to act for 15 minutes. The manufacturer does not state a single dosage valid for every protocol: the quantity depends on which one is used.
