BWT

BWT (Best Water Technology) is an Austrian water-technology group based in Mondsee. The official "About BWT" page places the founding of today's company in 1990, when "Andreas Weißenbacher laid the foundation stone for today's BWT", while noting older roots in industrial chemistry dating to 1823 in Germany. Since 1 October 2020 the parent entity is BWT Holding GmbH.

Within a group that also covers domestic, industrial and municipal water, BWT runs a filter line built specifically for professional coffee and HoReCa use: BWT bestmax, a multi-stage filter using the proprietary "Magnesium Technology" that enriches water with magnesium while reducing limescale and chlorine, aimed at coffee machines, vending machines and steam in combi ovens; and BWT bestcup, a cartridge fitted into the tank of coffee and espresso machines via an adapter. The group's hospitality page states that "if the water is right, the result will be right - for coffee, tea, bread, bakery products".
