PUQpress

PUQpress is the automatic espresso tamper made by Barista Technology BV, a Dutch company based in Vlaardingen (near Rotterdam) with an additional office in Amsterdam. The company's official page states "Since 2011." as its starting point, when founder Laurens Pluimers built the first prototype. Mechanical and electronic design, component manufacturing, assembly, testing and quality control all take place in-house at the Vlaardingen facility.

The brand the company remains best known for is PUQpress, the countertop automatic tamper available in several models (including Mini, Q and Pro) plus integrated versions built for specific grinder brands. In recent years Barista Technology has expanded beyond tamping with the Prep Navigator distribution tool, under the wider "PUQ" brand umbrella, of which the official site states: "PUQ is the brand we are best known for. It began as the PUQ Press." The company states its products are used in cafes in more than 70 countries.
