Jura E6

The E6 is a bean-to-cup machine with a built-in milk system: the grinder is adjusted via a dial, and a pull-out compartment lets you use pre-ground coffee instead, for instance for a decaf. Milk connects through an HP1-type fitting and is dispensed via a replaceable CX3 nozzle; it is best taken apart and rinsed once a week, and after every milk drink the machine also prompts a rinse of the milk system.

At a touch it recalls 17 specialties, including lighter-bodied "Light Brew" variants. Day-to-day upkeep comes down to emptying the drip tray and the dregs container, both dishwasher safe — done with the machine switched on, since that is how the dregs counter resets. Roughly every 180 coffees, or 80 power-on rinses, the E6 asks for a cleaning cycle lasting about twenty minutes; descaling can be avoided altogether by using the CLARIS Smart+ filter cartridge.

The E6 connects to JURA's J.O.E.® app, but doing so requires the JURA Wi-Fi Connect module, an optional accessory fitted into the service interface: out of the box the machine cannot be run from a smartphone. Washing the machine or the milk system's individual parts in a dishwasher is not allowed. It suits anyone who wants many one-touch milk recipes and does not mind taking the nozzle apart weekly.
