The E8 does it all by itself: it grinds the beans fresh, doses and brews, and for milk drinks it draws the milk from an external container and froths it straight into the cup. The display offers seventeen drinks, from espresso to latte macchiato, each one touch away. The grinder adjusts to the roast of the beans, and a chute for pre-ground coffee takes care of decaf or a second coffee without touching the beans in the hopper.
In return it asks for care, above all with milk. After every milk drink the machine rinses the circuit, and the nozzle needs cleaning every day with its own detergent; milk works best at 4 to 8 °C, so in a cooler. Every day the grounds container and drip tray are emptied and the tank water changed. When it asks, the E8 cleans itself with a tablet; descaling is no longer needed once a CLARIS Smart+ filter is fitted, which the machine recognises on its own.
It is the machine for someone who wants a cappuccino every morning without learning barista skills, and is glad to leave grind and dose to the machine. Smartphone control needs a Wi-Fi module sold separately.
