AromaOne is a Severin filter machine with an integrated conical steel burr grinder that can be switched off for pre-ground coffee. Its Cup Control function doses the water automatically for the number of cups selected, from 2 to 10, based on a standard cup of about 125 ml; the included glass carafe holds 1.25 litres.
Coffee strength has three settings and grind coarseness another three, and the bean container holds up to 200 grams. An LED touch display with a timer lets you schedule the start time in advance, and the hot plate stays on by itself for 30 minutes after each brew before switching off.
Cleaning is entirely by hand: neither the machine nor its parts go in the dishwasher, though a brush is included for the grinder. Descaling, with a citric-acid based product, is needed roughly every 50 brews or every 2-3 months; anyone brewing several carafes in a row needs to let the machine cool for about 5 minutes between cycles. It suits someone who wants to grind fresh without buying a separate grinder, and is fine washing everything by hand.
