This Severin milk frother has a stainless-steel body in a brushed black or silver finish; it heats with a conventional element, not induction. The Function button cycles through four settings — lots of froth, less froth, heating only, and cold froth — selected by pressing it repeatedly, and the On/Off button starts preparation. For heating only, the whisk is used without the spiral attachment, which is fitted for froth instead.

The container takes a minimum of 75 ml, up to 100 ml for froth or 200 ml when just heating milk. The lid and whisk are hand-washed in warm water with a little detergent after each use, and the spiral attachment comes off to be cleaned with a small brush; the container must not be immersed in water or washed in the dishwasher, only rinsed with warm water and detergent. If the liquid runs too low the unit shuts itself off to avoid overheating, and on standby it switches off anyway after five minutes without input. It suits anyone who also wants a plain heating-only setting, and does not mind hand-washing the parts.
