This Severin filter machine is designed for pre-ground coffee. The included carafe holds 1.0 litre and has double glass walls with a vacuum between them, insulating it like a thermos: it should always be filled completely, since half-full it keeps its heat for much less time.
You pour by turning the lid half a turn anticlockwise, and close it again turning it clockwise: coffee runs into the carafe through that same lid while brewing. A cable-storage compartment on the back lets you shorten the cord as needed, and the machine switches itself off shortly after brewing ends.
It is operated with a switch and an indicator light, with no timer. Descaling, with a vinegar solution, is needed roughly every 30-40 brews; the carafe must not go in the dishwasher or be submerged in water, and should be kept upright when full, since its closure is not airtight. It suits someone who wants coffee to stay hot for hours without a hot plate switched on.
