This Severin filter machine has an integrated steel grinder with adjustable grind, which can be switched off for pre-ground coffee, and a swing-out filter door with a removable cartridge. In place of a glass carafe it has a steel thermal one, poured with one hand. The water tank holds 1100 ml, for up to 8 cups, and the carafe holds 1.25 litres.
A blooming function pre-wets the ground coffee with hot water before the actual brewing starts, and an LED touch display with a timer lets you schedule the start time. With no hot plate to keep on, the appliance switches itself off about 5 minutes after brewing ends.
The bean container holds up to 200 grams. The filter and its removable cartridge can go in the dishwasher, while the thermal carafe is washed by hand in warm water. A display alert reminds you to descale every 200 brews. It suits someone who wants to bring coffee to the table in a thermal carafe, with no hot plate switched on.
