This Severin filter machine is designed for pre-ground coffee. The glass carafe with lid holds 1.25 litres, up to 10 cups, and its drip-stop lets you remove it from the base even before brewing has finished, without dripping.
It is a bare-bones appliance with a single on/off switch: no timer, no temperature control. The hot plate stays on by itself for about 35 minutes after brewing ends, then switches off.
The filter holder can also go in the dishwasher; the included permanent filter is washed by hand. Descaling, with a vinegar solution, is needed roughly every 30-40 brews. It suits someone who wants a filter machine with no programming: water, ground coffee and a switch.
