Moccamaster

The Dutch company Technivorm, headquartered in Amerongen, the Netherlands, states on its "Our story" page that it began operating on 6 April 1964, founded by Gerard Clement Smit: "Technivorm is op 6 april 1964 begonnen met het ontwikkelen van huishoudelijke producten" (Technivorm started developing household products on 6 April 1964). The first Moccamaster, the product that made the company known, was designed by Smit himself in 1968 ("In 1968 ontwierp hij de eerste Moccamaster"). That is the date the page titles on moccamaster.nl refer to, such as "De beste kop koffie sinds 1968" (the best cup of coffee since 1968) on the home page, while the history page dates the company itself to 1964.

The official page states that "alle Moccamaster koffiemachines en molens worden als sinds het begin in 1964 met de hand gemaakt door Technivorm in het hart van Nederland" (all Moccamaster coffee makers and grinders have been handmade by Technivorm in the heart of the Netherlands since the beginning, in 1964). On the site the brand appears simply as Moccamaster, while Technivorm is introduced as "de fabrikant van Moccamaster" (the maker of Moccamaster).

The same page claims that the copper heating element keeps brewing temperature between 92 and 96 degrees Celsius, and states ECBC (European Coffee Brewing Centre) certification since 1975 and SCA (Specialty Coffee Association) certification for filter brew quality.
