Purity C Finest C500 is the softening filter cartridge BRITA describes, in its professional catalogue, as the solution for operators who want to offer their customers the best espresso experience: according to the manufacturer, the treated water helps release the aromas typical of espresso from the ground coffee puck and helps produce crema with an ideal colour and consistency.

The stated capacity at a total hardness of 10 °dH with the bypass set to 0% is 3,414 litres, versus 1,100 litres for the smaller C150, 1,800 litres for the C300, and 6,000 litres for the C1100. The manufacturer specifies that the C500 must always be used with the bypass set to 0%.
