Jura Claris Smart+

The Claris Smart+ is the filter cartridge Jura sells as an official water-maintenance accessory for its superautomatic machines, listed under item number 24232. The manufacturer presents it as a guarantee of tank hygiene and as prevention against the limescale that builds up when water is heated.

The cartridge's capacity, the manufacturer states, depends on the hardness of the incoming water: from a maximum of 65 litres with water between 1 and 5 degrees of German hardness (°dH) down to a minimum of 40 litres between 26 and 30 °dH, with intermediate values for the ranges in between. It is therefore not a fixed figure but a tiered table tied to home water hardness.

The manufacturer certifies the system with TÜV Rheinland hygiene testing, but the product page does not describe the filtration technology used (ion-exchange resin, active carbon or otherwise), nor does it give a single capacity figure in litres: anyone who needs those details has to check the technical datasheet or the coffee machine's manual.
