The Mina is Olympia Express's travel espresso maker, fully manual: no electric boiler, filled instead with hot water and ground coffee. Lifting the lever actuates a piston system; a built-in valve lets water onto the coffee bed and closes as the lever is pressed down, building pressure, tracked in real time by a pressure indicator. A dedicated brewing-chamber design aims to limit heat loss, for steadier temperature despite having no boiler.
The body is aluminum, stainless steel and brass (plastic only where needed), with an electropolished stainless steel lever guide and fork and an anodized brew head. Wear parts are designed to be easy to replace. Included are a bottomless portafilter, a shaped tamper, a drip tray, an Allen key and the manual; the carrying case has an accessory compartment that also fits a small grinder or travel coffee.
There is no electric boiler: temperature in the cup depends on the hot water poured in by hand, not an onboard heater. It is for anyone who wants espresso on the move, without electricity.
