Bodum Kenya is, according to the manufacturer, the modern update of the classic plunger coffee maker, offered with a curved plastic body. In the 4-cup version documented here, declared capacity is 0.5 litres (17 oz), with stated dimensions of 14.7 cm in width, 11 cm in depth and 17.1 cm in height; the item code is 1784-01.
The carafe is borosilicate glass, the same material used across Bodum's whole French press range, while the manufacturer describes a reusable stainless steel filter and plunger as the components that hold back coffee grounds while pouring. Unlike the Chambord, for the Kenya the manufacturer explicitly uses the word 'filter' to describe this component.
The manufacturer states all parts are dishwasher safe, while still recommending an initial hand wash in warm, soapy water before first use. On the same page, Bodum specifies that its own cup measurements follow the European standard, equal to about 4 oz (118 ml) per cup.
