Which one to choose
Choose Vario W+ if…
you grind every day for espresso, pour over, drip filter and French press from the same coffee in the hopper and do not want to weigh each dose. The trade-off is stepped adjustment, with no in-between settings, and the coffee that stays in the hopper when you want to switch. Cold brew is not among the declared methods.
Choose X64 SD if…
you change coffees often, perhaps several times a week, and want to fine-tune the grind without steps. The hopper holds 30 g, so every dose is weighed and poured in by hand, and it needs 25 cm of depth against Vario W+'s 18.
