Caturra
A dwarf mutation of Bourbon: the plant is shorter, can be planted more densely and yields more. It is one of the two parents of the Catimor family, which was created by crossing it with various lines of the Timor Hybrid.

How it grows
Natural mutation of Bourbon. Identified between 1915 and 1918 in Minas Gerais, and selected by the Instituto Agronômico from 1937. In Guatemala in the 1940s, across Central America by the 1970s; in Colombia it came to account for almost half of production.
