Garnica
The only Mexican variety to come out of a formal breeding programme: medium stature, productive, with a cup of peach and citrus notes.
How it grows
Red Mundo Novo x Yellow Caturra. Selected by the Mexican coffee institute INMECAFE at the Garnica experimental station in Xalapa, Veracruz, from which it takes its name. It remains a minority variety: it is estimated at 5% of the country's plantings.
