DF54 is the smallest of DF Grinders' single-dose grinders: custom-made 54 mm flat burrs, available in uncoated stainless steel or with a Red Titanium (TiCN) coating. It's the entry model of the range, visible in its smaller burrs and motor: the same prosumer quality as the DF64 and DF83 siblings, in a smaller format.
The hopper holds just 25 g: you load the weight of beans needed for each coffee, with no stock kept on hand. The exit chute, enlarged in the latest version, cuts down further on grounds trapped inside, while a stainless steel declumper and a repositioned ionizer probe around the inner chute reduce clumping and static in the grounds. Grind adjustment is continuous and micrometric, with no fixed clicks.
It covers espresso, pour over and French press with the same burr set, so switching method means dialling the grind in again from scratch. It's for anyone wanting to start single-dose grinding without needing the larger burrs of its siblings; anyone working bigger volumes or wanting a hopper with a standing stock will find the DF64, or a conventional grinder, better suited.

Espresso
Seven grams, twenty-five seconds, twenty-five millilitres: Italian espresso has a written specification, and this is it.
- Dose
- 7 g
Ristretto
The same dose as an espresso, less water in the cup. No institutional source fixes its volume — so here you will only find what is documented.
- Dose
- 7 g
Cappuccino
25 ml of espresso and 100 ml of steamed milk, in a 150–160 ml cup. The cappuccino has a specification too.
- Dose
- 7 g
Caffè macchiato
An espresso and a stain of milk. How much milk, exactly? No source declares it — and we do not invent it.
- Dose
- 7 g
Caffè americano
An espresso lengthened with hot water. The amount of water is set by no standard: it changes from country to country and from bar to bar.
- Dose
- 7 g
Caffè shakerato
Double espresso, sugar syrup and ice in a shaker. It has no specification: it has a house recipe.
