Bialetti Mokina

Mokina is a Bialetti coffee maker in a single size, made for a very concentrated half-cup serving: it is not available in other sizes. The body is aluminium, with a thermoplastic handle and knob and the 'easy-clean' safety valve that can be cleaned without removing the boiler.

It brews by filling the boiler with water up to the safety valve, fitting the funnel with moka-ground coffee without pressing it down; the pot is then closed, placed on the hob, and taken off the heat as soon as the coffee starts to gurgle as it rises into the upper chamber. It works on gas and electric hobs; induction needs Bialetti's separately sold adapter. It is rinsed with water only, no detergent, and never goes in the dishwasher. It suits someone who wants a single, very concentrated serving ready in a few minutes.
