Melitta Montalatte

Melitta's Montalatte has an OLED display and four programs — hot froth, hot milk, hot chocolate and cold froth — chosen with the arrow buttons and started with the on/off button. The frothing disc clips onto a removable holder and spins inside the jug for froth and hot milk; for hot chocolate a second dedicated disc blends in the cocoa powder, at a ratio of one part chocolate to ten parts milk. The jug holds up to 300 ml for hot milk or chocolate, 150 ml when frothing, with a minimum of 100 ml of liquid.

The jug and lid can go in the dishwasher or be washed by hand; the stirrer lifts out, gets rinsed separately and dried before being put away, while the body with the electric base should only be wiped with a soft damp cloth. Cold froth also works for milk destined for cold drinks such as an iced cappuccino, and the unit should be cleaned right after use, before milk dries onto the parts. It suits anyone who wants to make hot chocolate at home with the dedicated disc, and does not mind hand-washing the body and base.
