Melitta's Montalatte is an electric milk frother with four selectable programs: hot froth, hot milk, hot chocolate and cold froth. The official manual states a maximum level of 300 ml for hot milk and hot chocolate and 150 ml for frothing, with a minimum liquid level of 100 ml. The manufacturer does not state power draw on a European source: the only spec sheet found, from the North American distributor, gives figures valid for that market and not for Europe.
The frothing disc clips onto a removable holder and spins inside the jug; a second dedicated disc lets you blend cocoa powder for hot chocolate, at a recommended ratio of 1 part chocolate powder to 10 parts milk. The cold program, named 'Cold Froth', is described by the manufacturer as also suited to frothing milk for cold drinks such as an iced cappuccino.
The jug lid can be washed in the dishwasher or by hand, while the body with the electric base should only be wiped with a damp cloth. The manufacturer does not specify whether heating happens via induction or a conventional heating element.
