The Gaggia Classic GT is a dual boiler espresso machine with two separate hydraulic circuits. The brew boiler is lead-free brass; the one for steam and hot water is stainless steel. Two independent electronic temperature controls manage the two boilers. It has an analogue pressure gauge, an adjustable over-pressure valve and pre-infusion that is automatic on three levels or manual. It is operated with a 2.4-inch colour display, four capacitive buttons and five backlit toggle switches; a preset volumetric dose is available. The kit includes a stainless steel portafilter with three filters (two traditional and one blind), a fully articulated steam wand, a dedicated hot water dispenser and a tamper with a wooden handle.

Pros and cons
In favour
- Two independent electronic temperature controls manage the brew boiler and the steam boiler.
- The analogue pressure gauge lets you follow the brewing pressure.
- Automatic pre-infusion has three adjustable levels; manual pre-infusion is activated with a toggle and lets you set the wetting and soaking time. source
- A dedicated dispenser supplies hot water, separate from the steam wand. source
Worth knowing
- With Ecomode active the steam and hot water boiler is off; using steam or hot water cancels Ecomode and the boiler must heat up again. source
