Hario Mizudashi Cold Brew Coffee Pot 14

The Mizudashi Cold Brew Coffee Pot 14 is the large size of Hario's cold-brew jug, with a stated practical capacity of 1000 mL (8 cups) and dimensions of 138x94x294 mm with an 88 mm diameter. The body is heatproof glass ("Glass pot / Heatproof glass"), while the lid, strainer frame and handle band are polypropylene, with a silicone rubber gasket; the declared weight, including the individual box, is approximately 600 grams.

The filter is a polyester-resin mesh, in other words a plastic mesh, set into the polypropylene frame. The manufacturer states compatibility with hot water and dishwashers, but not with microwave, oven, induction hob or open flame.

The stated method is a cold steep: the ground coffee is wetted by pouring small amounts of water in a circular motion; once the jug is full, the cap goes on, the jug is gently shaken to start extraction, and it is refrigerated for about 8 hours before serving.
