La Marzocco GS3 MP
CoffeeSpecs does not sell and does not show shop prices: check the price where you buy.
The GS3 MP shares the two separate boilers — one for coffee, one for steam — and the exposed saturated group with the AV, but swaps the electronic keypad for a mechanical paddle lever that drives pre-infusion directly. The manual lists it as taller than the AV, 44.1 cm versus 35.5 cm, with the same width and depth (41 x 53 cm) and the same 33 kg weight.
On the MP the manufacturer is explicit: pre-infusion is not keypad-programmable as on the AV, it is instead controlled manually by the paddle, moved by hand through the shot. Everything else carries over: the dual PID on the coffee and steam boilers, the built-in 3.5-liter tank with an optional fixed water connection, and the pump factory-set to 9 bar.
What the manufacturer does not specify, on either the product page or the consulted manual, is pump type, portafilter diameter, warm-up time, or boiler material — details anyone weighing the MP's manual pre-infusion control against the AV will have to look up elsewhere.
