Sage Barista Touch Impress

The Barista Touch Impress is Sage's touchscreen semi-automatic: step-by-step drink guidance, assisted tamping and automatic dose correction are all handled through the on-screen interface. Heating is handled by the ThermoJet system, which the manufacturer states reaches optimum extraction temperature in 3 seconds, paired with electronic PID control for temperature stability: for consistency with the Bambino Plus, this page classifies it among the fast-heating coil-type (thermocoil) semi-automatics, even though that term never appears in the documentation, which only refers to "ThermoJet".
The Impress Puck system delivers a 10kg tamping impression with a final 7-degree twist, and displays the measured dose on screen to auto-correct it on the next cycle. The steam wand is automatic (Auto MilQ): the manufacturer states it textures milk to the chosen temperature and style, from silky latte to creamy cappuccino, with options for dairy, almond, soy and oat milk, and an automatic purge of residual milk at the end of the cycle. The portafilter is 54mm and the removable water tank holds 2 litres.
The quick guide states a power draw of 1430-1700W on a 220-240V, 50-60Hz supply: both figures are ranges, with no single value for the European unit. The documentation reviewed shows no extraction pressure figures in bar and no analogue pressure gauge (replaced by the touchscreen), and the machine's weight is not disclosed.

Pros and cons
In favour
- Step-by-step on-screen guidance for grinding, tamping and extraction, with automatic dose correction. source
- ThermoJet heating reaches extraction temperature in 3 seconds, with PID control.
- Automatic steam wand with dedicated profiles for dairy, almond, soy and oat milk, and automatic purge of residual milk.
- 2-litre water tank, larger than the base Barista Express.
Worth knowing
- No extraction pressure figures in bar are stated in the documentation reviewed, unlike the Barista Express. source
- There is no analogue pressure gauge: pressure monitoring relies entirely on the touchscreen. source
- Power draw is declared only as a range (1430-1700W, 220-240V, 50-60Hz): there is no single nameplate figure. source
