ElbaV PID is a heat-exchanger machine: a 1.5-litre stainless steel boiler feeds both the brew group and an articulated, burn-safe-tipped steam wand, so you can froth milk while the coffee is pouring. A front display shows water temperature and a brew timer; the temperature control and the ECO mode switch sit underneath the machine, on the right side. A dual-scale gauge shows boiler and pump pressure together.
With ECO mode on – flagged by an "E" on the display – the machine stops heating after 30 minutes of inactivity and the boiler temperature drops to 30°C: lifting the brew lever brings it back to the set value. An orange light warns if the tank runs dry, or if a forgotten pour runs past 90 seconds: either way the machine stops itself. The top lid opens like a drawer to top up the 2.5-litre tank without moving the cups, and the front drip tray detaches completely for emptying.
Every evening the portafilters and filters need soaking in hot water to dissolve coffee oils, with the included blind filter for backflushing the group, and the steam wand should be cleaned after each use to avoid milk buildup; a single dose takes about 7 g of coffee, a double about 14 g. It's configured at order time by colour and by knobs, in three wood finishes – black, walnut or olive. This heat exchanger is built very narrow for the kitchen, with electronic temperature control for anyone who doesn't want to rely on knobs alone.
