The Forte AP (All Purpose) is a grinder Baratza positions as a compact commercial solution for low-volume cafes, built around a pair of 54 mm ceramic flat burrs from Ditting, housed in a metal grind chamber for improved cup-to-cup consistency. The manufacturer states it is rated for 5 lbs of coffee a day while keeping a small footprint.
Adjustment is all-metal, on two levels: 10 macro settings from fine to coarse, each further divided into 26 micro settings, for 260 combinations in total. The front touchscreen runs two dosing modes, by weight (accurate to a tenth of a gram) and by time, with three programmable presets per mode plus a manual option. The bean hopper holds a stated 300 g.
The manufacturer states two power standards: 100-120 VAC 50/60 Hz and 220-240 VAC 50/60 Hz (class I), both at 130 W. Stated dimensions are 13 x 18 x 37 cm (width x depth x height) for a weight of 6.0 kg, with a cast-zinc build. The manufacturer lists design in Seattle, assembly in Taiwan and burrs made by Etzinger in Liechtenstein, backed by a one-year warranty. Grounds retention is not disclosed.
