The Forte BG (Brew Grinder) is the filter- and manual-brew-oriented variant of the Forte, built with a pair of 54 mm steel flat burrs the manufacturer describes as designed to reduce fines and improve clarity in the cup. Baratza positions it as a commercial solution for multi-offering pour-over bars.
Adjustment is all-metal, on the same two levels as the Forte AP: 10 macro settings from fine to coarse, each divided into 26 micro settings, for 260 combinations. The front touchscreen runs dosing by weight (to a tenth of a gram) or by time, with three programmable presets. The bean hopper holds a stated 300 g.
The manufacturer states two power standards: 100-120 VAC 50/60 Hz and 220-240 VAC 50/60 Hz (class I), both at 130 W. Stated dimensions are 13 x 18 x 37 cm (width x depth x height) for a weight of 6.0 kg, with a cast-zinc build. The manufacturer lists design in Seattle, assembly in Taiwan and burrs made by Etzinger in Liechtenstein, backed by a one-year warranty. Neither grounds retention nor the exact burr alloy are disclosed beyond "steel".
